The second partnership between Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End and SCRAP’s Real Escape Game series has unveiled its primary visual and announced extra locations across Japan.
Named Escape from the Village Where Demons Lurk, the fresh attraction continues last year’s Escape from the Thousand-Year Dream, which attracted over 30,000 players in 15 sites. This round, participants will team up with Frieren and the original Hero Party to fight demons that have seized a secluded village.
The new illustration depicts Frieren alongside Himmel, Heiter, and Eisen; you can view it beneath.
The experience launches at Real Escape Game Harajuku in Tokyo, spanning from September 10 through December 6. More venues have been set, including Real Escape Game Shinsaibashi in Osaka (starting October 16), Real Escape Game Nagoya (starting October 29), and Nishitetsu Hall in Fukuoka (starting January 27, 2027).
Earlier this year, Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End displayed a brand‑new artwork for its orchestral film concert before the August shows, and has just announced that the event will go global with a debut at New York’s Carnegie Hall. The third season is slated for an October 2027 premiere.
Kanehito Yamada pens the Frieren: Beyond Journey’s End comic, illustrated by Tsukasa Abe. It has been serialized in Shogakukan’s Weekly Shonen Sunday magazine since April 2020. Readers can enjoy it on Sunday Webry, Viz Media, and the Shogakukan Comic site, while Crunchyroll streams the anime.
Studio MADHOUSE oversees the anime version. The debut season was directed by Keiichiro Saito, and Tomoya Kitagawa directed the sequel. Story supervision was done by Tomohiro Suzuki. Reiko Nagasawa designed the characters, with chief animation direction shared by Yuri Fujinaka, Reiko Nagasawa, and Maru Takase. Evan Call wrote the music.
