The upcoming TV anime adaptation of Giant Ojo-sama (Giant Young Lady) will begin airing in January 2027, unveiling a fresh teaser image and announcing its core production team. Studio Tatsunoko Production will handle the animation, and the project was first disclosed in March 2025.
Rooted in Nikumura Q’s manga, the series centers on Oriko Fujido, an heiress of a very rich clan who gets a whole metropolis as a birthday gift. She uses a growth potion concocted by her butler‑scientist, Dr. Sebastian, to become gigantic and protect the city from invaders, even though her actions sometimes create comparable chaos.
The project is being helmed by director Hiroshi Ikehata, known for works such as TONIKAWA: Over the Moon for You and Tearmoon Empire. Katsuya Oshima will act as assistant director, while Yu Mitsuya oversees the series composition and screenplay. Character design and chief animation duties fall to Hajime Mitsuda.
Giant Ojo-sama started its serialization on Shogakukan’s Sunday Webry platform on July 30, 2021. Prior to that, it debuted as a webcomic on Shueisha’s Jump Rookie site on December 17, 2020. The initial tankōbon volume appeared on November 12, 2021. By November 2025, eleven volumes have been released, with the twelfth slated for an August 10th debut in Japan. She cares for and expands the city, only for a colossal foe to surface and endanger its tranquility. As the danger looms, her butler Sebastian provides a peculiar elixir that triggers a dramatic change. The narrative is a light‑hearted comedy that celebrates the charm of oversized proportions.
