Amid the debate over the readiness to implement a QRIS‑based digital parking system, the Tasikmalaya City Communication and Information Service (Diskominfo) affirmed that digital infrastructure support has actually been prepared.
The Head of Tasikmalaya City Diskominfo, Amran Saefullah, said his agency has built a supporting system, including the installation of surveillance cameras (CCTV).

“We have already built the system and installed the CCTV. It’s now a matter of how to use the system,” Amran told Radar on Thursday (6/8/2026).
He explained that the application that has been developed is not only aimed at supporting non‑cash payments but also forms part of a comprehensive parking management system.
According to Amran, in the last few days communication has been resumed between Diskominfo and the Parking UPTD of the Department of Transportation to continue the implementation of the system.
“There was another meeting last Monday. The information is that the system will start being used. Hopefully it can run now,” he said.
He added that the system development is currently also geared toward using a smartphone. This step was chosen as an improvement after the use of an Electronic Data Capture (EDC) machine was found to encounter several technical problems, such as disruptions to the thermal printer, which requires more complicated maintenance.
“In the future, the process is planned to use a mobile phone. Previously, an EDC machine was used, but there were problems with the thermal printer, so it is now directed toward using a more practical device,” Amran explained.
Previously, a parking vendor representative, Nanang Nurjamil, considered that full implementation of parking digitalization was not yet appropriate. According to him, the readiness of human resources, field conditions, and community habits need to be considered before the system is applied comprehensively.

On the other hand, Member of Commission II of the Tasikmalaya City DPRD, Kepler Sianturi, continues to push for the acceleration of QRIS‑ or barcode‑based parking digitalization so that all transactions are recorded electronically, thereby reducing the potential for revenue leakage and making the Regional Original Revenue (PAD) more transparent.
The debate now is no longer just about whether the technology is available or not. Digital infrastructure is said to have been provided, but implementation on the ground remains a homework assignment.
