TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – In a bid to attract customers, some cafés offer various services to keep patrons comfortable, including karaoke facilities. However, such facilities entail that managers must handle permits extending beyond those required for a typical café.

The Senior Licensing Specialist at DPMPTSP of Tasikmalaya City, Andri Ikbal, stated that, according to data from the Online Single Submission (OSS) system, eight businesses were targeted for inspection by a joint team on Wednesday evening (29/7/2026).

He explained that the revision of risk categories in business licensing simplified the permit application process. Nonetheless, this convenience does not exempt business operators from the obligation to comply with all applicable regulations.

Vendors acknowledge they are still unable to implement parking ticket systems; parking attendants in Tasikmalaya City require further training. Construction of the Merah Putih Cooperative outlet in Tasikmalaya City is constrained by the 1,000‑meter land rule.

“Indeed, the process of submitting business permits is simpler. However, there remains a responsibility for each business operator to fulfill all required licensing obligations,” he said.

Andri emphasized that cafés or shops offering dedicated karaoke rooms must hold appropriate permits aligned with their business activities, even when karaoke serves only as an ancillary facility and not as the primary business.

“If a café or shop provides a room for karaoke, whether it’s an additional amenity or not the main business, since it functions as a karaoke room, the karaoke permit must be secured,” he stated.

Andri further noted that the proliferation of karaoke businesses is closely linked to the revision of risk categories in the business licensing system. With a medium‑low risk classification, the issuance of permits becomes more straightforward. Nevertheless, he reminded, every business operator must still satisfy all licensing obligations and the requisite technical specifications.

“Thus, the growth began when the licensing system’s risk classification shifted to the medium‑low category,” he clarified.

Meanwhile, the Head of Public Order, Transportation, and Civil Security at the Tasikmalaya City Police, Budhi Hermawan, stated that inspections were conducted to verify that business operators fulfilled their obligations.

During the operation, the joint team was divided into two groups targeting various entertainment venues and cafés, such as Acoustic Komplek Permata Cikurubuk, NJ Family Karaoke, Bolang Karaoke, Golden Fransisca Karaoke, Sartika Karaoke, Milfa Café n Resto, Petra Cahaya Irama Karaoke, Yusuf Nurdi Karaoke, and Tori Subiantoro.
