Aceh Besar – The President Director of PT Pembangunan Aceh (Perseroda) (PT PEMA), Mawardi Nur, inspected the progress of the Aceh Industrial Area (KIA) Ladong development on Tuesday (28/7/2026). The visit aimed to expedite the realization of strategic investment, especially the construction of a light‑steel factory intended to boost the construction industry in Aceh.

In its development, PT PEMA partnered with PT Indo Surya Gavalum (ISG) Group via PT Aceh Global Steel. The collaboration seeks to attract investment that not only builds production facilities but also promotes technology transfer, enhances human‑resource quality, and strengthens local industry.

PT PEMA’s President Director, Mawardi Nur, stated that the construction of the light‑steel plant is a component of a long‑term strategy to reinforce the construction sector and increase the added value of Aceh’s economy.

“We intend for the Aceh Ladong Industrial Park to become a hub for new, modern, productive, and competitive industry. The plant is expected to meet construction material demand in Aceh, lessen dependence on external supplies, and attract further investment,” Mawardi said.

Initially, the facility will be erected on a 5‑hectare site inside KIA Ladong with a monthly output capacity of up to 2,000 tons of light steel. Over the long term, the area is slated to evolve into an integrated cluster of four light‑steel mills aimed at bolstering the national construction industry’s supply chain.

Beyond industrial capacity growth, the project is projected to absorb local labor, stimulate ancillary businesses, and boost economic activity among surrounding communities.

“Every investment we bring must deliver tangible benefits to the community. We aim to create more job opportunities for Aceh’s youth, empower local entrepreneurs, and generate a multiplier effect for the regional economy,” he added.

Supported by ample land, infrastructure development, and strategic logistics access, the Aceh Ladong Industrial Park is seen as having considerable potential to become a new industrial growth center in Aceh.

PT PEMA is also open to collaborations with investors, business actors, educational institutions, and various strategic partners to reinforce the industrial ecosystem, broaden employment opportunities, and expedite Aceh’s economic transformation toward greater advancement, independence, and competitiveness.
