iQIYI Indonesia has launched its newest original series, Bunga di Tepi Jurang, set to premiere on 31 July 2026. Building on the success of the mystery drama Bercinta Dengan Maut, the streaming platform is presenting another local story with a richer emotional dramatic tone.
Produced in partnership with Leo Pictures and directed by Angling Sagaran, the series features an ensemble cast including Claresta Taufan, Stefan William, Aliando Syarief, Derby Romero, Anjasmara, Raden Rakha, and Thai actor Moshlong. Several cameo appearances are also expected to surprise viewers.
In its debut teaser, Bunga di Tepi Jurang introduces Andini, a woman who must deal with the fallout of past choices while risking everything to safeguard what matters most to her. The series title serves as a metaphor for Andini’s struggle to endure and discover her identity amid pressures from family, career, and love life.
iQIYI SEA Senior Managing Director Dinesh Ratnam stated that the series continues iQIYI Indonesia’s commitment to delivering high‑quality original content that resonates with viewers’ everyday lives.
Unlike many dramas that portray women as passive victims, Bunga di Tepi Jurang presents a protagonist who actively makes choices, confronts various pressures, and charts her own course in life. This approach aligns with iQIYI Indonesia’s vision of delivering local stories that speak to contemporary women’s challenges.
Claresta Taufan said playing Andini was a particular challenge because the character undergoes significant development over the course of 12 episodes. In her view, Andini is an optimistic person, loves her family, and never gives up in pursuit of her aspirations.
Meanwhile, iQIYI Indonesia’s Head of Original Content, Ikhsan Sasmita, emphasized that his team believes powerful local stories spring from realities close to people’s lives. Consequently, Bunga di Tepi Jurang is expected to build on the success of iQIYI Indonesia’s original series and reinforce its role as a home for Indonesian narratives that daringly explore emotional and meaningful themes.
The teaser for Bunga di Tepi Jurang is now available on iQIYI Indonesia’s official social media channels, with additional details about the series to be announced as the premiere approaches.
