Satoshi Mizukami’s Spirit Circle manga has secured a TV anime adaptation, set to premiere in December 2026. A teaser image and an initial promotional video were unveiled with the news.

The series comprises 18 episodes and centers on Fuuta Okeya, a 14‑year‑old who can see ghosts, and new transfer student Kouko Ishigami. When Kouko spots a hidden mark under Fuuta’s bandage‑covered cheek, she explains they share a bond across many lifetimes and starts pursuing him because of a grudge that spans their reincarnations.

The cast announced includes:

  • Kazuki Ura portrays Fuuta Okeya
  • Anna Nagase portrays Kouko Ishigami
  • Eri Yukimura portrays Rune
  • Yuichi Nakamura portrays East

Anna Nagase provides the ending theme song “Koko ga Donna Sekai demo,” her debut solo vocal work.

Tatsuo Sato functions as director and series composer, assisted by Kentaro Mizuno, while Satoru Fujimoto handles character design. NAGOMI and EOTA co‑produce the animation, and TWIN ENGINE oversees production.

Tatsuo Sato, recognized for titles such as Martian Successor Nadesico, Bodacious Space Pirates, and Stellvia, died in April 2026. Spirit Circle was his last directorial project. The production moved ahead under Kentaro Mizuno and the remaining team, who finished the series staying true to Sato’s vision.

Spirit Circle appeared in Young King OURs between 2012 and 2016, ending with six volumes. Satoshi Mizukami also created Lucifer and the Biscuit Hammer and Planet With. Seven Seas Entertainment licensed Spirit Circle for English publication, presenting the story:
Fuuta Okeya can see ghosts. In addition to that—and the bandage he always keeps on his cheek—he’s a completely normal 14‑year‑old boy who is smitten with the new transfer student. Unfortunately, Kouko Ishigami shows little interest in him. A strange ghost that follows her, however, seems to feel differently. When Kouko notices the hidden birthmark beneath the bandage on Fuuta’s cheek, her feelings shift…for the worse. She not only denounces him as her enemy, but also claims the birthmark is a curse she engraved on his face during one of their many past lives together. What happened between Kouko and Fuuta, and what connection do the strange, fantastical dreams Fuuta begins to experience have to this situation?
