MES Tasikmalaya Gabungkan Kota dan Kabupaten, 99 Pengurus Siap Tingkatkan Ekonomi Syariah

TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – A total of 99 administrators of the Tasikmalaya Sharia Economic Society (MES) for the 1448–1451 H period were officially inaugurated at the Bale Priangan Auditorium, Bank Indonesia Representative Office, Tasikmalaya, Wednesday (4/11/2026).

The number 99 of these administrators is not merely a figure in the organizational structure. The figure carries a philosophy referring to the 99 Asmaul Husna, or the beautiful names of Allah SWT.

The Chairman of PD MES Tasikmalaya, Prof. Dr. H. Kartawan, said that the philosophy was deliberately retained as an identity for the administration. It is hoped that the values of Asmaul Husna can serve as a guide in running the organization and developing the sharia economy.

“The number 99 is not only an indication of the number of administrators. Within it lies the philosophy of the 99 Asmaul Husna, which must serve as an inspiration for all administrators,” he said.

In his view, divine values must be reflected in every organizational activity, including in building a just economic system that provides benefits to the community.

“The values of Asmaul Husna must serve as an inspiration in running the organization. Economic activities and organizational management must be based on divine values, noble morals, and public welfare,” he said.

One of the strengths of the MES Tasikmalaya administration during this period is the representation of both the City and Kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Collaboration between the two regions is considered important to expand the sharia economic movement in Greater Tasikmalaya. Moreover, each area has economic potential that complements each other.

Tasikmalaya City has strengths in the trade, services, creative industries, and finance sectors. Meanwhile, Tasikmalaya Regency has great potential in agriculture, pesantren, MSMEs, and community-based economy.

By combining these two strengths, MES is expected to be able to build a broader sharia economic ecosystem.

“The potential possessed by Kota and Kabupaten Tasikmalaya is very large. This must become a common strength. Let us not walk separately, even though we have the same goal,” he said.

According to Prof. Kartawan, the development of sharia economics requires the involvement of various parties. It is not enough to rely solely on organizations, but must involve the government, ulama, pesantren, universities, financial institutions, and business actors.

“Therefore, synergy is very important. We must build togetherness so that sharia economics can truly develop and its benefits can be felt by the community,” he emphasized.

The inauguration was also accompanied by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and the launch of a sharia economics book. A number of strategic figures were present, including the Mayor of Tasikmalaya, the Secretary of the Tasikmalaya Regency Regional Government representing the Regent, the Chairman of the Tasikmalaya Regency DPRD, the Chairman of Commission II of the Tasikmalaya City DPRD, the leaders of MUI Kota and Kabupaten, Bank Indonesia, OJK, BSI, BPRS Al-Madinah, the Indonesian Waqf Board, IAEI, Universitas Siliwangi, university leaders, and pesantren.
