TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The aircraft has already touched down. However, passengers still cannot purchase tickets. This is the latest update on the Jakarta–Tasikmalaya flight route via Wiriadinata Airport. Saturday, October 31, 2026, marks an important day. Rimbun Air conducted a trial of its inaugural flight using an ATR 72-600 aircraft.
The 72‑seat aircraft departed from Halim Perdanakusuma Airport (HLP) bound for Wiriadinata Airport (TSY). It was scheduled for the morning. Taking off from Halim at 07.00 WIB, it arrived in Tasikmalaya around 08.00 WIB. The entire journey took just one hour.
The travel time previously required for residents of Tasikmalaya to reach Jakarta by land can now be significantly reduced. Still, there’s no need to rush to open ticket booking apps. This route has not yet been officially offered for sale. No definite ticket price is available at this time. Moreover, the schedule for regular flights has not been announced.

The Tasikmalaya City Government is still finalizing various preparations. These include fare, schedule, and permits from the Ministry of Transportation. Ticket sales are planned to be conducted through a digital system. This means the aircraft has already introduced itself, but the ticket counters remain closed.
The most intriguing question is no longer when the aircraft will fly, but rather what the ticket price will be. After all, even if the plane has 72 seats, they may not all be filled if the fare is too high.
We can draw lessons from the history of the Tasikmalaya–Jakarta flight route. When Wings Air first launched this route in 2017, the fares ranged from Rp240,000 for the lower limit to Rp660,000 for the upper limit.
At that time, the public gained a new alternative and no longer had to rely solely on land travel. Prior to the pandemic, when the route was operated by Citilink and Wings Air, the one‑way ticket price from Tasikmalaya to Halim on the Traveloka platform even reached approximately Rp1 million.
That figure certainly serves as a separate consideration for prospective passengers. Now, Rimbun Air arrives with renewed hope. The ATR 72‑600 aircraft, with a capacity of 72 passengers, is set to revive air connectivity between Tasikmalaya and Jakarta.
However, there remains a major challenge: determining a reasonable price. Tasikmalaya Mayor Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan and business circles alike hope that flight fares will be made affordable.
