TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The Central Organization of Indonesian Self‑Employed Workers (SOKSI) of Tasikmalaya Regency has reaffirmed its pledge to collaborate with the local government to eradicate poverty, broaden employment opportunities, and boost public welfare.

That commitment was voiced during the 6th Branch Deliberation (Muscab) of the SOKSI Branch Leadership Council (Depicab) of Tasikmalaya Regency, held at the Dewi Asri Hotel Auditorium in Singaparna on Tuesday (27/10/2026). The event also featured a two‑day national‑insight cadre education and training program and a celebration of SOKSI’s 66th anniversary, covering the dates 27–28 October 2026.

Tasikmalaya Deputy Regent H. Asep Sopari Al‑Ayubi, SP, MIP, stated that SOKSI holds a strategic role in safeguarding the nation’s ideology. Nonetheless, current challenges require the organization to also participate in addressing the community’s economic issues.

Tens of thousands joined a Tasikmalaya prayer gathering at Manonjaya Square. DPRD member Iyam Maryani calls for stronger child protection following the Bantarkalong case, urging it to serve as a warning.

“Now the front‑line guard must fight against poverty, including neoliberal influences. This activity also strengthens national insight,” Asep said.

He hopes that SOKSI can cooperate with the local government to reduce poverty rates by strengthening entrepreneurship and enhancing worker welfare.

“Thus creating an ecosystem where businesses keep running, employees are prosperous, legally protected, and can thrive economically,” Asep hoped.

The Chairman of SOKSI’s Tasikmalaya Regency Branch Leadership Council, Aang Budiana, S.Ag., explained that Muscab is a mandatory organizational agenda that serves not only as a deliberation forum but also determines policy direction and leadership continuity.

“We hope that through this Muscab we can produce decisions in line with the mandate of SOKSI Tasikmalaya Regency’s basic and household budgets,” Aang clarified.

He hopes that Muscab VI can produce new leadership capable of continuing the organization’s legacy. One of the agendas discussed is a management rotation involving cadres from various sub‑districts to be recommended for county‑level positions.

“In this Muscab there is a rotation of management that we will now select from each sub‑district. We will recommend them to become branch managers at the kabupaten SOKSI level,” Aang said.
