TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The Lumiland light festival at Dadaha Park in Tasikmalaya City provides more than just family entertainment.

The Tasikmalaya City Government hopes the attraction will boost the local economy, covering MSMEs and service sectors.

A total of 50,000 free tickets are prepared for students to enjoy Lumiland, which is held to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of Tasikmalaya City.

Many Tasikmalaya baristas have obtained certification after being evaluated to ensure their coffee expertise goes beyond mere appearance. Meanwhile, illegal alcohol continues to flow in the city via cash‑on‑delivery orders, with over a dozen bottles tucked inside school backpacks.

Tasikmalaya Mayor Viman Alfarizi Ramadhan announced this while inaugurating Lumiland at Dadaha Park on Friday night (9/10/2026). The festival is scheduled to run until 15 November 2026.

“From October 9 through November 15 at Dadaha City Park, we are partnering with Lumiland to hand out complimentary tickets to 50,000 students,” Viman said.

Ticket distribution will be carried out via school visits by the Lumiland team in collaboration with the Department of Education.

In addition to students, teachers and educators from across Indonesia are also welcome to enter for free by presenting their professional ID cards.

Viman hopes the Lumiland buzz will extend beyond visitors simply enjoying the light installations or taking photos.

According to him, public visits should also revitalize the economic circulation around the Dadaha area.

“The more people who come, the more activities that will flourish. Visitors head to Dadaha, then dine nearby, purchase MSME products, use transportation, shop, and engage in other activities. That is where an event can generate a broader economic impact,” he explained.

Telkomsel‑PosDigi targets 200,000 postal agents through the Sat Set package. The Zig‑Zag Cimerak drainage project in Tasikmalaya continues to draw attention, with the Ministry of Public Works stating it is being executed by the West Java Provincial Government.

Therefore, Viman urged the Lumiland organizers to allocate space for local MSME entrepreneurs so that the event’s benefits can be felt by the community.

He also proposed a special discount program for Tasikmalaya residents celebrating their birthdays in October, if feasible.

According to Viman, the 25th Anniversary celebrations of Tasikmalaya City must deliver tangible benefits, not merely fill the activity calendar or end with ceremonial events.

A number of other programs have been prepared, ranging from art and cultural activities, sports, public services, free health checks, job fairs, to trade and creative economy initiatives.

He encouraged residents to take advantage of the various programs, including shopping for local products and attending entertainment activities with family.
