The opening theme will be Nirvana’s track “Breed,” a fact confirmed by Dave Grohl himself. The series is directed by Masashi Ishihama at studio CloverWorks. The principal voice actors are Mariya Ise, who voices Mitsuki Koga, and Akari Kito, who portrays Aya Osawa. The fresh character artwork can be viewed beneath.
The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn’t a Guy at All, commonly referred to as KiniOto or TGSWIIWAGAA and known among readers as the “Green Yuri” due to its distinctive green aesthetic, is a Japanese manga authored by Sumiko Arai. The work initially debuted as a short narrative posted on Arai’s Twitter from July through September 2021.
In April 2022 it resumed as a weekly web manga, later moving to serialization on Pixiv Comic that same April 2023. Media Factory started printing the series that month as well, and by February 2026 the collection comprised four volumes. The work garnered the Next Manga Award for web manga in 2023.
Crunchyroll’s synopsis reads:
Stylish and energetic high schooler Aya enjoys listening to rock music, a passion she rarely finds in others—until she encounters a cool, enigmatic employee at a CD store. Cloaked in black from head to toe, this mysterious shopper boasts flawless musical taste. Aya becomes fiercely attracted to him, unaware that her object of affection is actually her classmate Mitsuki. Meanwhile, Mitsuki, who normally keeps to herself and avoids attention, sits beside Aya and is keenly aware of the younger girl’s feelings, yet fears revealing the truth. This raises the question of why Mitsuki finds herself increasingly drawn to conversing with Aya.
