Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie -Walpurgisnacht: Rising- Hits United States Theaters January 16th

During New York Comic Con, Aniplex of America and Fathom Entertainment announced that Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie -Walpurgisnacht: Rising- will be shown in U.S. theaters exclusively in subtitled and English dubbed versions from January 16 through January 19, 2027. This movie continues the story as the official sequel to Puella Magi Madoka Magica The Movie Part 3: Rebellion. Walpurgisnacht: Rising has faced several postponements; it was originally slated for a winter 2024 release in Japan but now will premiere there on August 28, 2026.

Tickets for Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie -Walpurgisnacht: Rising- go on sale online on December 11, 2026, as well as at select theater box offices. You can view the film’s previously released trailer below:

In honor of the forthcoming release of Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie -Walpurgisnacht: Rising-, Aniplex of America also unveiled a exclusive U.S. promotional image created by artist Namie:

At their panel, Aniplex of America also disclosed that the Puella Magi Madoka Magica earlier film trilogy—Puella Magi Madoka Magica the Movie Part 1: Beginnings, Part 2: Eternal, and -Rebellion-—will be released on Crunchyroll on November 8 and on Netflix on January 2. For the first time, the films will also include Latin American Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese dubs beginning November 15. Additionally, the trilogy will be offered as an Ultra HD Blu-ray set, with pre-orders now open on Crunchyroll and MediaOCD. This collection includes exclusive cover art designed by character designer Junichiro Taniguchi. The Puella Magi Madoka Magica: The Movie Trilogy 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray set will launch on October 15, priced at $149.98 USD.
