Walking Home with You anime unveiled a fresh visual and announced its April 2027 premiere on Wednesday. Additional details about the production studio, staff, and cast have not been disclosed yet.
The source manga is penned and illustrated by Mai Matsuda, and has been serialized in Futabasha’s Manga Action magazine since 2023. The English publisher, Omoi, presents this description of the work:
A new coming‑of‑age romantic comedy centered on the journey of taking a scenic route home, created by Mai Matsuda, author of Hikaru in the Light!
Shun, once the star of his middle‑school soccer team, saw his dream end after an injury. Now a high‑schooler feeling aimless, he finds purpose when he meets the quirky upperclassman Naoki. She drags him into her solo “Hyper‑Epic Heading Home Club,” a whimsical group that turns each walk home into an adventure. As Shun joins Naoki on fanciful quests for detours, hidden treasures, and any whim she follows, can the club bring color back to his otherwise mundane days?
