PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com — The 14th anniversary celebration of Pangandaran Regency should not be merely a bustling event on stage with little benefit for the community.
The Pangandaran DPRD urges that every series of activities should truly impact the economy of residents and local tourism.
The Chairman of the Pangandaran Regency DPRD, Asep Noordin, believes that the Milangkala momentum should be used to create activities with broader and sustainable benefits.

This includes activities involving State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) as well as Regional-Owned Enterprises (BUMD).
According to him, the parties involved need guidance to avoid merely staging ceremonial events.
“That activity is from Bank Indonesia, but it’s also our duty to inform Bank Indonesia and Bank Jabar. If possible, the activities should provide far greater benefits for the community,” said Asep on Tuesday (6/10/2026).
In his view, Pangandaran’s character as a tourist destination must be the primary consideration when determining the event concept.
Rather than merely drawing temporary crowds, the Milangkala event is expected to attract tourists to come, stay longer, and spend money within the community’s business sector.
“Which event can attract people and tourists to stay in Pangandaran and so on,” he explained.
Asep considers that pattern more important than simply seeking the splendor of the event.

In addition to highlighting the benefits of the activities, Asep also questioned the clarity of the status of several agendas in the 14th Milangkala series, one of which concerns the planned appearance of the music group Letto.
He urged the Pangandaran Regency Government to clarify which party is the organizer of the activity.
In his opinion, if an activity is not organized directly by the local government, the agenda should not automatically be perceived as an official event of the Pangandaran Regency Anniversary.
The clarity of the status is deemed important so that the public does not mistakenly understand which activities are official events of the Pangandaran Regency Government and which are organized by other parties during the Milangkala momentum.
“If it’s not a government activity, the status should also be clear,” Asep emphasized.
