TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The search for two fishermen from Sindangkerta village, Cipatujah district, Tasikmalaya regency, who were swept away by strong sea currents at Pamoean beach, entered its third day on Thursday (1/10/2026). Nevertheless, as of yesterday, the joint rescue team had not yet located either of them.

Despite this, some of the fishermen’s belongings have been recovered. These include the boat, footwear, and various items that were on board. The joint rescue team, comprising Basarnas, Pos SAR Tasikmalaya, Polairud, Balawista, HNSI, and FK Tagana Tasik Selatan, continues the operation using motorboats.

The head of FK Tagana in Tasikmalaya regency, Jembar Adisetya, reported that Tagana’s southern division, together with Basarnas Pangandaran, Pos SAR Tasikmalaya, HNSI, and Balawista, is still searching for the two fishermen lost in Pamoean Sea, Sindangkerta, Cipatujah. It is planned that the search will last between three to seven days.

UPI Tasikmalaya strengthens the competence of elementary school teachers based on culture and digital platforms. Regarding the case of students at SMAN 3 Tasikmalaya, the Governor of West Java asked the principal not to hesitate in taking action.

“If the operation exceeds seven days, the search will be halted by the rescue team. It will then be up to the families to let go, as the standard search period is three to seven days; if no results are found, the search will stop,” explained Jembar.

Jembar noted that the boat carrying the three fishermen capsized, and this was not due to adverse weather conditions. It is believed that the vessel struck a coral reef because of human error, causing it to flip over and be carried away by the waves.

“We urge fishermen to be more cautious, even if they are experienced and have been at sea for a long time, to maintain safety and careful planning to avoid human error,” he added.

The head of HNSI in Tasikmalaya regency, Dedi Mulyadi, stated that the search also includes the participation of elder spiritual figures or shamans to locate the missing fishermen.

“The families of the missing fishermen were initially in shock, but have now become calmer and are able to accept the situation; the initial shock was understandable,” said Dedi.

Dedi also urged fishermen to prioritize safety both when setting out to sea and upon return. He believes that fishermen must assess sea conditions, particularly when reefs are obscured or blocked by waves.

“One of the victims had been fishing for decades. Due to insufficient safety measures and failure to use standard operating procedures such as life jackets, it led to a maritime accident,” he said.
