Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles Season 3 has been officially confirmed, accompanied by a special announcement from the series’ writer, Yuri Kitayama.

“Congratulations on the production of the third TV anime season of Seirei Gensouki! Fans have been asking, “Will there be a Season 3?” The decision to create a third season is thanks to the ongoing enthusiasm of our fans across Japan and worldwide, who kept supporting us even after Season 2 concluded. In Season 1, Rio vowed revenge. In Season 2, he finally faced the person he was seeking retribution against. Yet, alongside him stand his mentor Celia and Miharu, a childhood friend he cherished in a former life. This intertwines his past and present lives, the happiness he enjoys now, and the happiness of moments he can no longer hold onto. What will Rio strive to attain? Or perhaps, what will he try to keep at a distance? Reflecting on these themes, I originally chose the message that it’s crucial to express feelings in words and communicate them. If you don’t, you indirectly burden the other person with the unspoken cost. That cost is invisible, yet it accumulates inside them. When it keeps building, I believe it becomes a massive source of stress. Ultimately, this will make the story more intricate and exciting! We look forward to your enjoyment of Seirei Gensouki Season 3!”

TMS Entertainment has taken on the animation duties for the upcoming sequel, slated to premiere on October 7, 2024. The core production team features Osamu Yamasaki as director and series composer, Kyoko Yufu as character designer and chief animation director, and Yasuyuki Yamazaki handling the music.
Seirei Gensouki: Spirit Chronicles is a Japanese light‑novel franchise penned by Yuri Kitayama, with illustrations by RIV. The story was originally posted on the Shosetsuka ni Naro site from February 2014 to October 2020, and Hobby Japan began releasing the printed volumes in October 2015.
