Thecuy.com – President Prabowo Subianto stressed the need to keep the hajj cost burden light so it does not weigh on pilgrims. This was conveyed during a meeting with the Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Mochamad Irfan Yusuf, and Deputy Minister Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak at the Merdeka Palace in Jakarta.
The President directed that the hajj cost structure be arranged in a way that prevents excessive burden on pilgrims. One proposal under discussion is a restructuring of the composition between the Hajj Service Fee (Bipih) paid directly by pilgrims and the value benefit. The President suggested a composition of around 52 percent for Bipih and 48 percent for value benefit to keep costs light.

Menhaj said that the President appreciated these efforts and ordered that all practices harming prospective pilgrims be completely eradicated.
The President also gave special attention to the financial management of the hajj overseen by the Hajj Financial Management Agency (BPKH). He promoted a forensic audit to understand the actual and detailed state of financial management.
This audit is expected to serve as a foundation for improving hajj financial management to be more accountable and sustainable for the benefit of pilgrims in the future.
Data Verification and Reduction of Pilgrims’ Waiting Period
In addition to financing and governance aspects, the government is focusing on improving the departure queue for pilgrims. After validating data for about 5.7 million pilgrims, roughly 400 thousand invalid data entries were discovered, affecting waiting time calculations.
With corrected data, the average waiting period for hajj departure this year is projected to be around 14 years. The government continues to search for the best formula to expedite the queuing process.

This comprehensive reform aims to keep hajj costs affordable, enhance financial governance transparency and accountability, and make the pilgrim queuing process clearer and grounded in accurate data. These measures are expected to boost the quality of hajj services and deliver optimal benefits for all pilgrims.
