The school held Salat Istisqa on Friday (25/9/2026) as an effort to ask for rain from Allah SWT. The event was attended by the principal, teachers, and all students.
With the theme “Looking Up in Prayer, Asking for Blessed Rain,” Salat Istisqa is not merely a religious activity.

The school used it as part of character education, especially to instill faith, piety, gratitude, environmental concern, and tawakal.
This Friday was different from the usual Friday routine. The students performed Salat Istisqa followed by a sermon and collective prayer.
Amid the drought experienced by the community, students were taught that humans have limitations in dealing with natural conditions. However, these limitations are not a reason to stop making an effort.
The principal of SDN 2 Kersanagara, Rina Nurlina SPd, said that Salat Istisqa became both a religious experience and a real learning opportunity for the students.
“Salat Istisqa is a real lesson for children that as humans we have limitations. Besides making an effort to protect the environment, we are also taught to always pray, seek Allah’s help, and increase our gratitude for the blessings He bestows,” she said.
During his sermon, the imam of Salat Istisqa also invited the congregation to introspect, increase istighfar, do more good deeds, and maintain good relations with others and the environment.

The series of activities took place solemnly. The students attended Salat Istisqa, the sermon, and collective prayer in order and attentiveness.
Through this activity, SDN 2 Kersanagara hopes that the values conveyed will not end when the prayer is finished.
