TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com–The digitalization of parking fees in Tasikmalaya city is still encountering challenges and has not been fully implemented smoothly. Despite efforts to encourage the use of applications and digital tools for recording parking transactions, issues such as signal problems and the presence of illegal parking attendants continue to be unresolved challenges.

The Head of the UPTD Parking Management Division at the Tasikmalaya City Department of Transportation (Dishub), Uen Haeruman, said that his team, in collaboration with the Communication and Information Service (Kominfo), continues to monitor the digital devices used in the field.

Monitoring is conducted weekly to ensure that devices, networks, and application usage by parking attendants remain functional.

“The key is to keep evaluating. If there are any problems, improvements are made together with Kominfo,” said Uen on Thursday (24/9/2026).

According to him, one of the ongoing obstacles is related to the network. Devices that use mobile phones sometimes experience disruptions when the signal weakens, making it difficult for them to capture or record transactions optimally.

Thus, digitalization, which is supposed to make parking matters clearer, still occasionally faces issues with signals that suddenly “disappear.”

“Sometimes there is no signal. If the signal is poor, it will automatically not be detected,” he said.

Therefore, network strengthening is part of the evaluation process. Uen said that plans are underway to reinforce Wi-Fi at several locations to support the system’s smooth operation.

In addition to improving the network, Dishub also plans to add more digital devices. Currently, an additional 30 devices are still awaiting CSR funds from Bank BJB.

“The plan is to add 30 devices. Hopefully, it will be done this year, around the end of the year,” he explained.

Uen explained that monitoring is not only related to device conditions but also involves assessing transaction potential at each location to determine how optimally the devices can be used.

The use of the device is also being promoted among parking attendants. Trials and monitoring are conducted regularly in collaboration with Kominfo.

“Every Monday or Tuesday, we evaluate. So it’s not left unattended, it’s continuously monitored until the parking attendants and the application are both functioning smoothly,” he said.

The problem of digitalization does not end with the devices owned by parking attendants. For vendors or third-party parking managers, the implementation of the Kominfo application has not yet been fully realized.
