TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The investigation into an alleged case of extortion and gratification related to the independent student admissions process at Jenderal Soedirman University (Unsoed) is continuing at the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK). The anti‑corruption agency questioned seven witnesses last week, among them a teacher from Tasikmalaya identified as WY.
In response, the school’s principal, Yonandi, spoke out. He expressed concern over the teacher’s involvement, noting that WY has been recognized as a key educator, especially in counseling and preparing students for higher education.
“From the school’s perspective we share the concern about this situation, because after all our teacher is one of the best,” he told reporters on Saturday (19/9/2026).

He also clarified several reports surrounding the examination of the Guidance and Counseling (BK) teacher. Yonandi said that WY has been serving as the coordinator of BK teachers, a role that involves not only addressing student issues at school but also helping them choose a university that matches their aspirations.
“She is the one who can guide the children here as coordinator of BK teachers. So they can be guided and reach the university they dream of,” he said.
Regarding the Unsoed matter, Yonandi described it as a trial for WY. Based on the information he has, WY had no intention of influencing prospective students to enter a particular university.
According to him, WY was merely following policies communicated by the university to prospective students and their parents.
“He had no intention to do what some might call conditioning towards a university; there was none,” he said.
Yonandi even suspects that WY’s position could be exploited by others because he/she was too helpful and open in carrying out his/her duties.
“But here he/she is too kind, but that kindness could be exploited by irresponsible parties,” he explained.

Nevertheless, Yonandi did not specify which party was involved. He noted that the legal process is still ongoing and the school has entrusted its handling to the KPK.
