Bride of the Barrier Master New Trailer Unveils More Cast

The latest trailer for the previously announced Bride of the Barrier Master anime, shown on Monday, revealed five more cast members. A visual was also unveiled, and Netflix will stream the series from January 2027 onward.

Akari Kito and Kikunosuke Toya lead the series as Hana Ichise and Saku Ichinomiya, respectively. Also joining the cast are:

• Kanon Takao portrays Hazuki Ichise
• Hiroto Shimizu plays Nozomu Ichinomiya
• Yuzuki Tamukai voices Azuha
• Taihi Kimura appears as Aoi
• M・A・O portrays Miyabi

 TROYCA will produce the animation, directed by Toru Kitahata. Yuko Kakihara oversees the series composition, while Minami Murayama designs the characters.

The anime originates from a novel series penned by Kureha, illustrated by Bodax, and first appeared in December 2021 as part of Kadokawa Bunko. The companion manga, illustrated by Odayaka, started its run in B’s Log Comic (published by Enterbrain) in March 2022. Yen Press has secured the English licensing for both the novel and manga, presenting the following synopsis:

For centuries, Japan has been guarded by five clans that practice barrier‑weaving magic. Hana, an 18‑year‑old from a lesser branch of one clan, has always lived in the shadow of her more talented, attractive, and popular twin sister. When a powerful ability emerges within her, she keeps it hidden to maintain a tranquil, low‑profile existence. However, her peaceful routine is disrupted when Saku Ichinomiya assumes leadership of the Ichinomiya clan and searches for a strong bride to stand beside him. Determined to conceal her powers, Hana avoids Saku, yet wonders if she might accept a marriage contract that would secure the quiet future she longs for.
