TASIKMALAYA, RADARTASIK.IS – The contest for the Chairperson of the Golkar Party’s Regional Executive Board in Tasikmalaya Regency is heating up ahead of the Regional Consultation (Musda). Three cadre figures—Erry Purwanto, Aang Budiana, and Arief Arseha—are emerging as candidates seen as having the potential to lead the Golkar Party in the region.
The emergence of these three names has elicited reactions from several party administrators and West Java politicians. The Head of the Golkar Party Faction in the West Java Provincial DPRD, Drs. H. Yod Mintaraga, M.P.A., considers that all three have equal opportunity to run in the chairman candidacy race.
“Everyone has a chance and ample experience within Golkar as core cadres. The three are undoubtedly genuine Golkar cadres who have successfully carried out cadre development within the Tasikmalaya Regency Golkar DPD,” Yod told Radar.

Yod noted that the three cadres also possess organisational experience, both within the founder’s organisation of Golkar and other organisations. That experience is an important asset in facing the Musda contest and in leading the party forward.
“Who doesn’t know Ery Purwanto, Arief Arseha, and Aang Budiana? They are currently the best cadres owned by the Golkar Party in Tasikmalaya Regency,” said Yod, THE LEGEND, a MURI awardee in the legislative field as the longest‑serving council member for eight consecutive terms from electoral district 15 covering Tasikmalaya city and regency.
Yod added that, regardless of who eventually runs and is elected, the three individuals are considered capable of improving the Golkar DPD in Tasikmalaya Regency.
Meanwhile, West Java’s senior Golkar politician Asep Suparman also sees Erry Purwanto, Arief Arseha, and Aang Budiana as having the potential to hold the position of Chairman of the Golkar DPD in Tasikmalaya Regency.
“Kang Erry Purwanto has solid experience. This time, he has the chance to run in the Regional Election on his own,” said the Organizational Communication Lecturer at a Private University in Bandung.
According to him, Arief Arseha possesses experience and is known for being polite in politics. Meanwhile, Aang Budiana is considered to have strong networking among santri and solid organisational experience.
“All prospective candidates must have ghiroh to run in the Regional Election if Golkar wants change. But if they’re only satisfied in the legislature, holding onto seven seats is already good enough,” said the Secretary of the West Java Provincial DPD of the Barisan Pemuda Nusantara.
