TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The integrated functionality of Dadaha continues to guide the urban planning initiatives of the Tasikmalaya City Government. Consequently, while ensuring the comfort of sports facilities, the planning team must also provide for the inclusion of street vendors (PKL).
Street vendors and parking are identified as key factors contributing to the congestion of the Dadaha area. Therefore, these two elements have become the primary targets of the city’s urban renewal efforts led by the Tasikmalaya City Government.
The challenge lies in maintaining the presence of PKL, requiring the government to identify a suitable location for them. Similarly, vehicle parking areas managed by community groups are also included in the scope of this urban planning initiative.

The Head of General Administration at the Tasikmalaya City Setda, Drs. H. Asep Maman Permana, M.Si., stated that Dadaha cannot be regarded solely as a sports area. The region serves as an integrated space accommodating various community activities.
“Dadaha is an integrated area. It includes sports, family recreation, arts and culture, youth activities, and economic development within the Dadaha region,” Asep said on Sunday (6/9/2026).
Given its multi-layered functionality, Dadaha’s development cannot be approached piecemeal. All activities taking place in the area must be organized to prevent conflicts.
In the initial phase, the two priority issues are the arrangement of PKL and parking locations. Nevertheless, permanent implementation of the arrangement has not yet been carried out.
“The current priority is the arrangement of PKL and parking locations. The plan exists but has not yet been implemented,” he explained.
Asep emphasized that development is not merely about relocating activities from one point to another. The government must ensure that public spaces remain accessible to the community in a safe, comfortable, and orderly manner.
This includes the green open space within the Dadaha area. Future PKL arrangements will aim to maintain trade activities without disrupting community members who use the area for sports and recreation.

“Street vendors will be relocated to more comfortable locations that do not infringe upon the rights and responsibilities of other individuals,” he disclosed.
In other words, the scheme under discussion does not solely involve evicting PKL from the Dadaha area. The government prefers a relocation approach to locations deemed more appropriate.
