GARUT, Thecuy.com – The final match of the Regional Futsal Championship, DPRD West Java Provincial Cup 2026, pitted the host Regency of Garut against guest Regency of Karawang.
The match took place at Sport Hall Cikuray, SOR Adiwijaya Complex, Tarogong Kidul District, Garut Regency, on Thursday, August 27, 2026.
The decisive final match was intense. Both teams exchanged attacks. However, until the end of the first half, no goal was scored, leaving the score at 0-0. In the second half, the game became more open, resulting in many goals, with a total of six—each team scoring three—making the final score a tight 3-3.

The match had to be decided by a penalty shootout. Garut Regency emerged as the champion of this regional championship after winning an 8-7 penalty shootout against Karawang Regency.
The sweet result on home soil cemented Garut’s dominance in West Java futsal, securing consecutive titles (back-to-back) after the 2025 edition.
Chairman of Garut Futsal Team, Dadang Johar Arifin, said the key to his team’s victory lay in mental improvement and calm execution.
“In head-to-head matches, we were defeated twice during trials in Karawang, also in the group stage. But I remained confident and kept praying,” he said.
Dadang emphasized that his team had been tested in high-pressure situations throughout the tournament, including penalty shootout scenarios.
“The important thing is that they remained calm, not obsessed with things that disturb the mind. Alhamdulillah, the children were effective and accurate when executing penalties,” he said.
Garut’s success in retaining the Jabar championship title also proves the effectiveness of local athlete development. The Garut squad was built without importing players from outside the region.
The New Market Area in Garut will be renovated, with street vendors temporarily relocated; meanwhile, street lighting is out, making the RTA Prawira Adiningrat route in Tasikmalaya considered dangerous.
Head of the Youth and Sports Department (Dispora) of Garut Regency, Asep Mulyana, expressed pride in the trust given to Garut Regency to host the provincial-scale event.
The current sports activity in Garut Regency continues to show positive development. According to him, the surge in sporting events not only creates euphoria for athletes and sports enthusiasts but also provides real impact on the community’s economic growth.
“Alhamdulillah, these sporting activities have a significant impact on building the economic ecosystem; the community is also pushed and becomes more vibrant,” said Asep.
