GARUT, Thecuy.com – The futsal contingent from MTs Kabupaten Garut secured the top spot at the West Java Level Madrasah Student Sports and Arts Festival (Porseni).
The competition took place at Siliwangi Futsal Center in Tasikmalaya City on Sunday, August 23, 2026. The MTs Kabupaten Garut futsal squad defeated the Cimahi City futsal team with an impressive score of 2‑0.
Coach Toni, head coach of the Garut Futsal Team, expressed pride in his players’ accomplishment, noting that the preparation time was very tight.
Efforts are underway to upgrade the Pamegatan‑Singajaya road in Garut to provincial status, and the Pasar Baru area is set for renovation with temporary relocation of street vendors.
Additionally, player selection was carried out across various madrasah schools in Garut Regency.
“The team only had two training sessions. Even though the players came from different schools, they quickly adapted to each other,” Coach Toni told Radar Tasik.
Each victory was attributed to the coach’s strategic rotation of players, especially given that the team played five matches within just two days.
Coach Toni stated that the key to the team’s success in every match lay in the high motivation of his players.
“The children’s motivation exceeded all expectations; they demonstrated their abilities and showed no fear when facing their opponents,” Coach Toni revealed.
The teacher from MTs Persis 76 Tarogong Garut also hopes that his students will continue to develop and enhance their skills.
“In the future, whatever they dedicate themselves to and whatever the coach teaches them will serve as a foundation for pursuing their hobbies at each level,” Coach Toni explained.
