GARUT, Thecuy.com – The Department of Tourism and Culture (Disparbud) of Garut Regency continues to finalize the rollout of an electronic ticketing (e‑ticketing) system in government‑run tourist areas.
Even though the digital system infrastructure is already in place, its full implementation across all tourist sites is still hindered by budget‑saving constraints on equipment procurement.
The head of Garut Regency’s Department of Tourism and Culture, Beni Yoga, said that the development of the software’s component of the system has actually been completed.

However, the main obstacle now is providing the physical equipment on site. “From a system perspective, this e‑ticketing is already complete. The implementation only awaits the availability of supporting equipment,” he said on Friday, August 28, 2026.
He explained that several supporting tools needed for the e‑ticket system include smartphones, printers, and QRIS payment scanners.
Beni said that the Department of Tourism and Culture had hoped that the procurement of physical equipment for e‑ticketing could be allocated in the revised budget, but budget‑saving policies caused the acquisition to be postponed.
“We had hoped for allocation in the revised budget, but a push for efficiency occurred. Nonetheless, we await further budget adjustments to have the chance to purchase the supporting equipment,” he added.
To address these limitations, Garut Regency’s Department of Tourism and Culture is concentrating on optimizing and linking the new system to two premier tourist destinations that already have basic facilities: Candi Cangkuang and Situ Bagendit.
“For now we will try to implement the new system first in two locations, namely Cangkuang and Bagendit,” he said.
