TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com-The digitalisation of parking management indirectly fosters a sense of responsibility among parking attendants, prompting them to provide better service and learn how to use digital devices. In addition to reducing the potential for revenue leakage, their work is no longer just ‘based on a whistle’.

Without digital management, the public often fails to tell apart legal and illegal parking attendants. This is because both perform identical tasks: blowing a whistle, directing vehicles and taking money.

For official parking attendants who adopt digital management, their circumstances are now markedly different from those of illegal attendants. Besides wearing a uniform, they also carry special equipment because they handle cashless parking payments.

The start of TPP cuts: There was a scenario of 50 percent and 10 percent! Behind the 20 percent TPP: Deductions, loans, or budget tricks!

During a trial conducted by the Tasikmalaya City Department of Transportation (Dishub) in collaboration with the Communication and Information Department, a number of parking attendants were equipped with special devices. These include a mobile phone with a dedicated application (Sinatria) and a portable parking printer.

If it can be implemented comprehensively in the future, parking attendant work will become a profession that requires expertise, not just whistling. This situation will create a clear distinction between legal and illegal parking attendants.

The implementation of parking management digitalisation has already begun to receive a positive response from some residents.

Dwi Nuraeni (45), a housewife from Tawang who was parking her motorcycle in the HZ Mustofa parking area, said she follows the government’s policy as long as the payment process is not cumbersome.

“I just follow the government’s policy. The important thing is that payment is easy and that I can use both cash and non‑cash. So I’m comfortable paying for parking,” said Dwi on Thursday (20/8/2026).

Asep Ahmad (41), a resident of Mangkubumi who was parking his car in the area, expressed a similar opinion. According to him, the current system is far more flexible than at the initial stage when it relied solely on non‑cash payments.

“Thank God it’s not like when it was first introduced. When parking here you had to pay non‑cash. Now two options are offered. So I’m comfortable paying if I want to pay in cash,” said Asep.

Another trial, e‑retribution for roadside parking in Tasikmalaya city has not been fully implemented. Total e‑retribution for parking in Tasikmalaya city launched without preparation, parking attendants at the field still awaiting instructions.
