The previously announced Matsurika Kanriden anime has unveiled a new trailer that highlights the opening theme “Hana Hanashi” performed by Kana Boon. The series is scheduled to premiere in January 2027, produced by Maho Film.
Rie Takahashi plays Matsurika Ko while Nobunaga Shimazaki voices Emperor Hakuyo. Additionally, three new cast members have been disclosed:
- Takeo Otsuka as Tenga Rei
- Kotaro Nishiyama as Shisei Ho
- Sho Komura as Shunsetsu Sho
Takeshi Mori serves as chief director, with Yuichi Nakazawa as director. Toko Machida oversees series composition, Manami Inose handles character designs, and Takuro Iga composes the music.
The tale follows Matsurika, a palace attendant renowned for her sharp memory. When she meets the emperor, he falls for her but requires her to pass an examination before they can interact.
The light novel series, authored by Rinne Ishida, has been published under Kadokawa’s B’s-LOG Bunko imprint since July 2017. A manga adaptation by Waka Takase has been serialized in Akita Shoten’s shojo magazine Princess since August 2018.
