Pesantren Idrisiyyah held a ceremony commemorating the 81st anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia on Monday (17/8/2026), with male and female participants at separate venues.

The male ceremony took place in the courtyard of Masjid Al‑Fattah Pesantren Idrisiyyah, while the female participants held theirs at the Asrama Darul Mahabbah field.

The event started at 07.30 WIB and was attended by senior officials, teachers, and students from various educational levels within the Idrisiyyah environment.

Notably, the participants were not limited to santri; the line‑up also included early‑childhood learners, elementary and middle school students, Idrisiyyah santri, Ma’had Aly Idrisiyyah mahasantri, and STAI Idrisiyyah students.

This picture illustrates one point: education at Idrisiyyah is built within a tiered ecosystem, ranging from preschool to higher education.

Ustadz Fahruroji, Director of Primary and Secondary Education at Idrisiyyah, reminded that the nation’s struggle does not end after Indonesia’s independence.

Today’s generation, he said, has the responsibility to continue the struggle in line with the challenges of the times.

One important preparation needed is a strong mentality to face the various trials of life.

Meanwhile, at the female ceremony, Ustadzah Euis Herlina, Vice Director of Secondary Education at Idrisiyyah, spoke about the importance of thanking independence and honoring the struggles of the heroes.

Independence, she said, is a trust that must be preserved and filled through real contributions.

One way is by preparing future generations through good education.

In other words, while earlier generations fought to achieve independence, today’s generation has homework to ensure that independence does not remain just a number on a red calendar.
