To achieve this goal, Asep detailed several primary strategies. First, enhancing the allure of tourism events or attractions. He asserts that Pangandaran must once more possess a calendar of activities categorized at the national and international levels.
He mentioned the international kite festival, previously a hallmark of Pangandaran, which has been inactive for years. “The International Kite Festival embodies the spirit of Pangandaran. This event must be restored by 2027,” he declared to Radar on Friday (14/8/2026).

In addition to aviation and extreme sports festivals, including aero modeling regularly conducted by Susi Pudjiastuti, the potential of marine sports is also being highlighted.
Pangandaran is deemed to possess a comparative advantage, featuring a coastal horse racing venue in Legok Jawa, an international surfing competition in Batukaras, and paddle boarding activities in Green Canyon.
Equally crucial, local traditions and customs such as Hajat Laut, Syukuran Nelayan, and Seren Taun should be packaged more effectively to transform them from mere community rituals into high-value cultural attractions for tourists.
The second strategy centers on reinforcing village tourism as the engine of the people’s economy. Asep urged the local government to deliver training, guidance, and human resource capacity enhancement in villages, enabling them to manage their natural resources autonomously and professionally.
At the same time, the third point highlights the significance of digitalization and institutional optimization. Asep advocates for the establishment of a Regional Tourism Promotion Board (BPPD) and the adoption of a digital system (digital marketing) for destination promotion, MSME product marketing, and the management of Regional Own-Source Revenue (PAD) to ensure greater transparency and efficiency.
Despite Pangandaran’s abundant tourism potential, Asep points out a persistent classic issue: accessibility and accommodation facilities leading to several remote tourist sites. Road and transportation infrastructure is deemed an essential prerequisite for ensuring that all destinations are comfortably reachable by tourists.
In order to implement all these plans, the DPRD promotes a collaborative partnership model rooted in the pentahelix approach, engaging government, academia, business entities, travel operators, media, and local communities.
