Level‑5, the studio behind the Yo‑kai Watch series, has unveiled a Yo‑kai Watch: Puni Puni x Rent‑A‑Girlfriend partnership. This temporary crossover kicks off on August 17 and introduces Kanojo Okarishimasu’s lead heroine, Chizuru Ichinose, with several game‑exclusive lines. Players can obtain Chizuru as a playable character through a gacha system, and they can also take part in a “mini collab bingo” mini‑game that awards date tickets with the adorable heroine.

Yo‑kai Watch: Puni Puni x Rent‑A‑Girlfriend Collaboration Details
The Yo‑kai Watch series spans multiple titles, including games, manga, anime series, and movies. Its core concept revolves around gathering and making allies of supernatural beings called yokai. Level‑5 introduced Yo‑kai Watch: Puni Puni on mobile devices in Japan during October 2015, rolled it out to North America and Australia in March 2016, and launched it in Europe on March 30, 2017. The title is also referred to as Yo‑Kai Watch: Wibble Wobble. The developers ended support for the international version in May 2018.
Rent‑A‑Girlfriend, also titled Kanokari in Japan, is a romantic comedy manga created by Reiji Miyajima. It has been featured in Weekly Shonen Magazine (published by Kodansha) since July 2017. The publisher has gathered the chapters into 46 volumes. Kodansha USA distributes both the original series and its spin‑off titled Rent‑A‑(Really Shy!)-Girlfriend. TMS Entertainment has turned the manga into an anime that ran for five seasons, with a sixth season in production.
Besides the manga and anime, the property expands into a live‑action TV drama, a visual novel titled Rent‑A‑Girlfriend: The Horizon and the Girl in the Swimsuit, and a crossover mobile game.
Kanokari chronicles the faux romance between Kazuya Kinoshita and his hired companion Chizuru Mizuhara (credited as Ichinose). Financial pressures compel them to act as a real couple, and the act soon blossoms into genuine affection.
