TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – Dadi Hartono and his wife Elva spent over a decade moving from one temporary home to another. After a long wait for a decent personal residence, the couple finally secured a suitable home with the help of the TNI Manunggal Membangun Desa (TMMD) Program 129, implemented by Kodim 0612 Tasikmalaya.
Tears of joy shone on Dadi Hartono and Elva’s faces. The couple, blessed with two daughters, felt relief after confirming that the 6 × 11‑meter house was firmly built.
The house is located in Balok RT 18 RW 06, Nagrog Village, Parungponteng Subdistrict/District, Tasikmalaya Regency. When met by radar tasikmalaya at the construction site, the 33‑year‑old man greeted warmly.

He seemed to already know he would be interviewed. Parungponteng Village Head H Entis Sutisna had informed him. “Wah, please come in, sir. Earlier the village head visited. He mentioned there would be guests and an interview,” he said.
Dadi looked joyful. The same went for Elva, who had been with her beloved for about ten years. Initiating the conversation, the 33‑year‑old recounted his decade‑long experience with his wife.
Years passed. Dadi and his family had to move from place to place, staying in homes belonging to relatives. Carrying furniture became a daily routine. They sometimes moved once a year, or even twice.
The routes they traveled were hilly. Many village roads in Parungponteng Subdistrict, Tasikmalaya Regency, were not paved with asphalt. When moving houses, there was always a risk of furniture being damaged. However, they endured it patiently, though they always hoped for their own house.
At its peak – before occupying his new house – he stayed at his parents’ house. His parents’ house was about 50 meters from the new house under construction. There, Dadi occupied a 3 × 5‑meter side terrace. It was a makeshift structure made of plywood with an asbestos roof.
“There we also ran a stall (at his parents’ house, red) It combined a stall, house, and room. Basically, it was all mixed together. Well…just whatever, sir,” he recounted.
