Village in the Shade is slated to launch in Western territories on 27 October 2026. This rural life simulation title will be offered on PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo Switch, and PC via Steam.

In Village in the Shade, players will reside in Kagatsu, a Japanese mountain village that appears tranquil yet harbours many secrets.

The game features a hand‑painted visual style, allowing players to engage in daily activities such as farming, fishing, hunting, gathering resources, and decorating their home with assorted furniture and crafted items.

Even though it presents a leisurely countryside life, Kagatsu enforces several rules that players must follow. Talking to strangers, leaving the village, or stepping outside after dark are prohibited. Breaking these rules may cause players to uncover the mysterious and eerie facets hidden beneath the village’s calm exterior.

For players who are not keen on horror elements, Village in the Shade includes a Village in the Sunshine mode. This mode lets players enjoy farming, hunting, and fishing in a more relaxed manner without having to break village rules or encounter its frightening side.

Beyond everyday tasks, players can take part in traditional Japanese festivals, admire cherry‑blossom scenery, and socialize with Kagatsu’s residents.

The combination of life simulation, farming activities, and mystery provides a unique experience for fans of simulation games in Village in the Shade.
