A fresh announcement for SK8 the Infinity Season 2 emerged during the anime’s “∞ Day” Instagram Live event on August 8, showcasing a brand‑new illustration and a note from director Hiroko Utsumi.
The broadcast, starring Tasuku Hatanaka as Reki and Chiaki Kobayashi as Langa, had been slated for the franchise’s yearly August 8 celebration. During the stream, details about the previously teased second season were revealed together with an image labeled “Season 2.”
Although production has not yet reached a stage where visual material can be displayed, Utsumi indicated that work on the second season is moving forward and disclosed a single setting fact: Season 2 will occur in winter.

We still can’t present anything tangible to the audience, but we did want to give a tiny hint about Season 2. The only clue we can share right now is that the next season will be set in winter!
A winter backdrop for SK∞… suggests it could look a bit like this! …Perhaps. Since there are endless options, we’re making solid headway on Season 2, so stay tuned and give us a bit more time.

The second season of SK8 the Infinity was first unveiled together with an OVA in August 2022. The four‑episode OVA titled SK8 the Infinity EXTRA PART arrived in 2025, yet information about the TV follow‑up has stayed scarce.
So far, the animation has been handled by Studio BONES, and the series is licensed by Aniplex. Their synopsis reads:
Reki, a second‑year high school student and skateboarder, is hooked on “S,” a covert and perilous downhill racing event held inside an abandoned mine. The competitors get particularly excited about the “beefs,” which are intense confrontations that flare up during the races.
Reki brings Langa, a transfer student who has just come back to Japan after overseas schooling, to the underground venue where the contests happen. Langa, lacking any skateboarding background, quickly becomes entangled in the realm of “S”…
The anime’s first season premiered in the winter of 2021.
