TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The budget deficit that threatens the finances of the Tasikmalaya City Government is once again under scrutiny. According to information circulating on the ground, the deficit is now approaching Rp200 billion.

PKB Faction Member of Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, H Oleh Soleh, urged the local government to immediately re-evaluate the planning of the 2026 Regional Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBD) so that the fiscal issue does not turn into a “time bomb”.

Oleh Soleh made the statement following a visit to the Tasikmalaya Inspectorate Office, where he was received by Deputy Mayor Diky Candra on Thursday (30/7/2026).

In his view, the current fiscal condition is not only experienced by Tasikmalaya City, but is felt almost by all regional governments in Indonesia as a result of budget efficiency policies and global economic dynamics.

“Budget efficiency is happening across all governments, from Sabang to Merauke. I believe the President has good intentions for every rupiah of the state budget and the regional budget to truly benefit the people,” he told Radar.

However, he admitted that the current efficiency policy has caused some regions to feel that their fiscal space is becoming narrower.

Nevertheless, he believes that the central government is still looking for the best formulation so that national programs can be integrated with the needs of regional governments.

“We are currently in a turbulent fiscal condition, influenced also by geopolitical situations. I am confident that the best formulation will be found to ensure that central programs are in line with RPJMN, provincial RPJMD, down to district and city RPJMD,” he explained.

Specifically, Oleh Soleh highlighted the financial condition of Tasikmalaya City, which is said to be facing a deficit of around Rp200 billion.

In his opinion, the first step to be taken is not to add new programs, but to re-examine the APBD documents and re-determine the scale of development priorities.

“The RKPD planning that has been established within the APBD Perda must be re-evaluated. Determine which truly become priorities and which can be postponed. If this is not done, it could become a time bomb,” he emphasized.

He considered that the revision of the APBD must be carried out as soon as possible to adjust to the real conditions of regional revenue.

Because, various programs that have been announced to the public are feared to be unimplementable if fiscal capacity is insufficient.
