Nia Liston: The Merciless Maiden anime unveiled a key visual and trailer on Tuesday, announcing three additional cast members and setting a premiere for October 6. KONAMI Animation will handle the series’ production.
Honoka Inoue portrays Nia Liston, and the newly added cast members consist of:
- Fuka Izumi as Lynokis Funk
- Rinna Honnizumi as Hildetaura Altoire
- Rina Hidaka as Reliared Silver
Motoki Nakanishi serves as director, with Haruta Segi as assistant director, Gigaemon Ichikawa overseeing series composition, Yuki Ito and Kana Tosaoka responsible for character design, and Naoki Endo handling music composition.
The anime adapts a light novel series penned by Umikaze Minamino and illustrated by Katana Canata. The work debuted on the user‑generated site Shosetsuka ni Naro from May 2019 through January 2021. Hobby Japan secured the rights under its HJ Bunko imprint and began releasing volumes in September 2022; eleven installments are now available. A manga adaptation by Kabuto Kodai is currently serialized on Square Enix’s Manga Up! platform.
J‑Novel Club holds the English licensing for the light novel, describing the story as:
A legendary hero, undefeated, lies on her deathbed, lamenting that she never faced a worthy opponent. She always expected her end on the battlefield, but her peaceful passing makes her wish for a different outcome. Suddenly awakening in the frail body of young Nia Liston, she discovers a brand‑new struggle. Nia is weak and has much to improve before she can fight, yet with a second chance at life she is resolute to achieve her goals. She will live—and die—fighting this time. All hail the Merciless Maiden!
