TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com–Recruiting workers for a firm that distributes alcoholic beverages within the Hayu Gawe Disnaker program of Tasikmalaya City is considered negligence. This situation warrants an assessment, urging government bodies to be more diligent when providing assistance.
Miftah Farid, chairman of the Nahdlatul Ulama’s Young Generation (GMNU) in Tasikmalaya, highlighted the oversight by Disnaker. He feels this issue calls for a review to ensure greater care when communicating with the public.
Miftah praised Disnaker’s acknowledgement of the mistake and its subsequent apology to the public.
Cooperation in managing parking was not initiated by the Tasikmalaya City Transportation Agency; its sustainability will be evaluated. The Mayor of Tasikmalaya rejected the proposal to establish a parking enforcement task force. That duty already belongs to Dishub.
“We value Disnaker’s admission of the error, which reflects accountability. Still, it is essential to conduct an evaluation to prevent such incidents from happening again,” Miftah said.
He emphasized that the public should recognize that not every product marketed by a company is prohibited. Nonetheless, alcoholic beverages, he noted, are highly sensitive and require careful handling.
“Not all products from that company are banned. However, presenting alcoholic drinks in a government-owned public space will inevitably create a different perception among the public,” he said.
Miftah further stated that collaboration between the government and the business sector to create jobs is a positive move. Nevertheless, such cooperation should not be interpreted as endorsement of alcoholic beverage distribution in Tasikmalaya.
“Feel free to partner with companies to generate employment for the community. Yet, it must be ensured that the cooperation does not conflict with local regulations or the values upheld by Tasikmalaya residents,” he asserted.
In his view, all materials published on official government accounts or platforms should undergo stricter verification. This is crucial to avoid unnecessary controversies that could be prevented.
“Good intentions alone do not always lead to positive outcomes if they are not accompanied by thoroughness. Official government publications must be meticulously reviewed to prevent misunderstandings or misuse,” he said.
