TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The National Children’s Day observance is not just about ceremonial events. The Sahabat Sejalan community turned it into a platform to raise concerns about the large number of abandoned children who are still believed to lack their fundamental rights as mandated by the constitution.

Through a community service event held at the Yamuti Foundation in Tasikmalaya City and the Tabaraq Orphanage in Tasikmalaya Regency on Sunday (26/7/2026), the group handed out food packages, engaged in play with the children, and organized various games and prize draws as a demonstration of social concern.

Ketua Pelaksana Kegiatan, Lukmanul Hakim, concluded that the situation of children living under limited circumstances is still an unfinished homework assignment.

The Situ Beet cultural enclave highlights the precarious condition of bamboo artisans in Tasikmalaya amid dwindling raw material supplies. Additionally, the Tasikmalaya City branch of Perisai Diri is targeting 1,000 new members, sharing the reason behind this goal.

Nevertheless, Article 34 of the 1945 Constitution instructs that the poor and abandoned children are to be fostered by the state.

“Reality shows otherwise. Numerous children still battle to secure proper nourishment, and a great number of their rights have yet to be fulfilled,” remarked Lukmanul on Monday (27/7/2026).

He considered that the community service was a modest effort aimed at creating happiness and raising awareness among the populace.

The event was not solely centered on distributing aid but also on nurturing emotional bonds through games, joint learning sessions, and conversations with the orphanage children.

“His hope was that they would not only receive assistance but also experience camaraderie and care that might remain in their memory,” he added.

A representative of the Sahabat Sejalan community, Nisrina, noted that the initiative stemmed from the members’ compassion for children residing in orphanages.

Even the execution of the community service became a vow she made while celebrating her birthday.

Asep Ramdan was unanimously elected to lead GP Ansor Bungursari, promoting the spirit of unity and service. In another report, hoaxes that undermine digital morals have prompted GMNU Tasikmalaya City to urge young people not to fall victim to misleading opinions.

“May this activity provide some assistance to the younger siblings here and bring blessings upon all of us,” she said.

She outlined the series of events that included distributing food packages, playing with the children, and hosting prize quizzes to foster a warm and enjoyable atmosphere.

Meanwhile, the head of the Sahabat Sejalan community, Jausan, emphasized that the primary value of the activity was not the magnitude of the assistance provided but rather the sincerity of the giving.

“We believe that the worth of a gift is not determined by its size but by the sincerity of the heart behind it. A smile or a helping hand can become a beacon for those in need,” he remarked.
