Restoring regional financial health is a top priority for Pangandaran Regent Hj. Citra Pitriyami’s administration.

The administration seeks to lower debt levels while restructuring the economy to reduce dependence on tourism.

Agriculture and fisheries are being promoted as alternative economic pillars.

This diversification is considered essential to lessen reliance on tourism, which is vulnerable to various external shocks.

Pangandaran Regent Citra Pitriyami admitted that the local government still has a considerable amount of work to do.

Fiscal improvement must go hand in hand with strengthening productive economic sectors and addressing drought issues that affect residents.

This means there is a roughly 42% decline from the initial figure, representing a difference of Rp158.4 billion.

Nevertheless, the remaining Rp218 billion in debt indicates that fiscal recovery efforts are not yet complete.

On the other hand, budget efficiency policies also have consequences for meeting various community needs.

Several programs and citizen expectations have not yet materialized as expected due to limited local financial capacity.

Citra also extended apologies to the public for various needs that the government has been unable to fulfill.

“Sebagai Bupati, saya ingin menyampaikan permohonan maaf kepada seluruh masyarakat Pangandaran, apabila masih ada harapan dan kebutuhan yang belum dapat kami penuhi,” terangnya.
