Banyuwangi – Light to moderate rain that hit Kalibaru sub‑district, Banyuwangi district, from Sunday (26/7/2026) evening until Monday (27/7/2026) early morning caused a flood overflow in Dusun Krajan, Kalibaru Wetan village.

Based on a report from the East Java Banyuwangi Regency BPBD Disaster Information Agent, rain started around 15.00 WIB and continued until about 02.00 WIB. The rainfall caused the drain on National Route III Kalibaru to become blocked, causing water to overflow into residential areas.

Consequently, two houses of residents were inundated with water reaching approximately 50 to 70 centimeters in height. The impacted homes are those of Lilik Suryaningrat, a resident of RT 02 RW 08 Kalibaru Wetan village, and Fendri Yulianto.

Even though it temporarily flooded the residents’ homes, the event did not result in any property damage or loss of life.

Upon receiving a report from the Head of Kalibaru Wetan Village, the East Java Banyuwangi Regency BPBD Disaster Information Agent promptly went to the site for an assessment. Collaborating with the village authorities and community members, the officials performed a census and helped move residents’ possessions and household items to a safer place.

The on-site response involved Kalibaru Wetan Village Head Taufik, the East Java Banyuwangi Regency BPBD Disaster Information Agent, alongside RT, RW, and community members from the surrounding area.

By Monday (27/7/2026) at 07.49 WIB, the situation at the location was reported to be under control. The weather in Banyuwangi was noted to be overcast, and the overall condition was deemed safe. BPBD remains vigilant and will share additional information should any changes happen.
