BANDA ACEH (fanews.id) – The Financial Services Authority (OJK) of Aceh Province, together with the Aceh Financial Services Industry Communication Forum (FKIJK), continues to enhance consumer protection in the financial services sector by improving human resource quality. One concrete step taken was the organization of a Service Excellence Training for Financial Services Industry Frontliners, which took place in Banda Aceh on Wednesday (22/7/2026).

The training was inaugurated directly by the Mayor of Banda Aceh, Illiza Sa’aduddin Djamal, and was attended by 150 service officers (frontliners) originating from 24 Financial Services Business Actors (PUJK) in Aceh Province.

Head of OJK Aceh Province, Daddi Peryoga, stated that consumer protection is not only realized through complaint resolution mechanisms, but also begins with the quality of service provided to the public from the start.

According to him, frontliners are the spearhead of financial institutions because they are the first to interact directly with the public.

“Frontliners must possess good service competence as well as adequate financial literacy. With this, they can provide accurate information, help the public understand financial products and services, and prevent misunderstandings that could lead to consumer complaints,” said Daddi.

He explained that the training was an implementation of OJK Regulation Number 22 of 2023 concerning Consumer and Community Protection in the Financial Services Sector, as well as OJK Board of Commissioners Regulation Number 37/PADK.08/2025 regarding the provision of information and marketing of financial products and services.

During the training, participants received coaching on consumer protection principles, understanding of the OJK Financial Information Service System (SLIK), the concept of service excellence, up to effective communication techniques in serving customers.

Through this capacity enhancement, OJK hopes that all frontliners can provide professional, responsive, transparent services, prioritizing consumer interests, thereby continuously increasing public trust in the financial services industry.

Meanwhile, the Mayor of Banda Aceh, Illiza Sa’aduddin Djamal, emphasized that service officers have a strategic role in building the image and public trust towards financial institutions.

He believes that amid rapid growth in digital financial services and the proliferation of various fraud schemes, the public requires services that are not only fast, but also provide a sense of security, certainty, and correct education in using financial products and services.

Illiza also appreciated the collaboration between OJK Aceh Province and FKIJK Aceh, which is considered a concrete step in strengthening public financial literacy and inclusion, while also improving the quality of financial services in Aceh.

“OJK, local governments, and the financial services industry must continue to synergize so that the public increasingly understands their rights and obligations as consumers and are protected in every financial transaction,” he said.

Looking ahead, OJK Aceh Province reaffirms its commitment to continue strengthening collaboration with local governments, FKIJK Aceh, and all stakeholders in improving the quality of financial services, strengthening consumer protection, and promoting sustainable financial literacy and inclusion.

By enhancing frontliner competency, OJK hopes that Acehnese people can obtain increasingly professional, transparent, and consumer-oriented financial services, thereby supporting the creation of a healthy, inclusive, and sustainable financial sector.
