BSI Area Meulaboh Bersama OJK Edukasi ASN Nagan Raya Lewat GENCARKAN

Suka Makmue – PT Bank Syariah Indonesia Tbk (BSI) Area Meulaboh, in collaboration with the Otoritas Jasa Keuangan (OJK) Aceh and the Forum Komunikasi Industri Jasa Keuangan (FKIJK) Aceh, launched a Sharia financial literacy and inclusion program named the National Financial Literacy Movement (GENCARKAN) in Nagan Raya Regency on Thursday, July 23, 2026.

The program, facilitated by the Nagan Raya District Development Planning Agency (Bappeda), was attended by approximately 150 civil servants (ASN) representing various regional apparatus organizations (OPD) within the Nagan Raya District Government.

The GENCARKAN initiative is a nationwide effort designed to boost financial literacy and inclusion, helping individuals better manage their finances prudently, use financial products and services that meet their needs, and avoid various financial crime risks such as illegal investments, unauthorized online lending, and digital fraud.

Sandi Rahmad Sholeh, Area Manager of BSI Meulaboh, said that the GENCARKAN activity in Nagan Raya Regency forms part of a series of financial literacy and inclusion efforts carried out concurrently in 23 districts/cities across Aceh during July 2026.

“The implementation of GENCARKAN across all districts and cities in Aceh demonstrates that building a financially literate community has become a joint movement involving the government, regulators, and the financial services industry,” he said.

He explained that for civil servants, retirement is not the end of service but the start of a new life chapter. Therefore, early financial planning is essential to ensure a peaceful, independent, productive, and blessed retirement.

“We hope this activity will provide valuable knowledge to participants, enabling them to manage finances wisely, plan their future effectively, and avoid the growing threat of financial fraud,” he added.

Meanwhile, Siddiqi Abdul Rahman, SE., M.Sc., Head of Bappeda Nagan Raya, expressed appreciation for the collaboration among OJK, FKIJK, and BSI in delivering Sharia financial education to civil servants in Nagan Raya Regency.

In his view, the program not only enhances civil servants’ understanding of financial management and Sharia financial products but also facilitates access to services for participants approaching retirement.

He explained that, thanks to a partnership between BSI and PT Taspen, future pension administration in Nagan Raya Regency can be processed more easily locally, eliminating the need to travel to Banda Aceh.

“With this service, pension administration can be handled at the BSI branch in Nagan Raya, making the process easier, faster, and more efficient for civil servants,” he said.

Through GENCARKAN, BSI, together with OJK and FKIJK, aims to boost Sharia financial literacy and inclusion in Aceh, foster healthy financial behaviors, and encourage people not only to understand the importance of financial planning but also to apply it by making optimal use of Sharia financial products and services. As a result, participants are expected to be better prepared to achieve financial independence, especially when facing retirement with greater planning and well‑being. []
