TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – Pemerintah Kota Tasikmalaya via Dinas Lingkungan Hidup (DLH) officially ceased waste depo operations or the Dadaha Integrated Waste Processing Site (TPST) starting Wednesday (22/7/2026). This move is part of a redevelopment initiative for the Dadaha Complex, aiming to keep the area from being tainted by foul odors.

Apart from the redevelopment, the TPST’s presence in the area is considered no longer suitable for storage or sorting operations.

Head of Waste Management Division at Tasikmalaya City DLH, Feri Arif, stated that after the Dadaha TPST was shut down, the three‑wheeled vehicle belonging to DLH also ceased hauling domestic waste to that site.

Viral video of indecent act on HZ Mustofa Street, the mayor and Tasikmalaya City Police are searching for the perpetrator. Parking management policies in Tasikmalaya City are seen as increasingly ineffective, prompting the task force to boost funding.

“The Dadaha integrated waste processing site, which normally sorts and stores waste, has been switched off as of July 22,” Feri told Radar on Thursday (23/7/2026).

According to him, this policy also affects waste transportation services in several areas, such as the Ibu Apipah district, Pasar Lama and Pancasila. Temporarily, waste that used to be dumped at TPST Dadaha is now rerouted to the nearest waste disposal site (TPS).

This measure is taken while DLH seeks a more suitable location to serve as a new waste depot.

“We are also scouting for a suitable spot for a new waste depot. For now, we are flexibly redirecting waste that used to be dropped there to the nearby TPS sites, ensuring services continue,” he clarified.

Feri added that the closure of TPST Dadaha is not solely linked to plans for reorganizing the sports area. From an environmental perspective, the site is also deemed insufficient for use as a storage and sorting location.

Moreover, he said, there have been numerous complaints from residents concerning waste management activities in that area.

“In addition to supporting the redevelopment effort, from an environmental perspective, the site is no longer suitable for waste storage and sorting. Aside from many residents’ complaints, its location is also within the sports center area,” he concluded.(Firgiawan)
