PANGANDARAN, Thecuy.com– Former Pangandaran Regent Jeje Wiradinata highlighted an agrarian conflict that recently unfolded in Cisarua hamlet, Langkaplancar village, Langkaplancar subdistrict. Allegedly, rubber farmers faced intimidation accompanied by destruction of their farming tools.
The ongoing dispute reportedly instilled severe fear and psychological pressure among local residents, particularly farmers and women.
In a written statement, Jeje said he visited the conflict site and was shocked to hear firsthand complaints and intimidation experienced by residents. According to eyewitness accounts, some of their farming facilities and yields were damaged by unspecified parties.

They reported not only damage to trees and tapping bowls but also threats of physical violence, causing them to avoid working in the fields for several days. The situation even led some women to become hysterical and cry when sharing their plight.
Jeje noted that the agrarian conflict seriously impacts environmental sustainability. Langkaplancar, as a vital supporting area, is essential for water supply in the lower part of Pangandaran.
“My concern is that this is an environmental issue. Langkaplancar serves as a water catchment area for the lower Pangandaran region. If the area becomes barren and reforestation does not occur, it will be exhausted. This will significantly affect water availability downstream, including Green Canyon and other areas,” he said on Monday (20/7/2026).
Observing that the situation is becoming less conducive for the community’s economy and poses a threat of environmental damage, Jeje urged all authorities to take immediate and firm action to mediate the conflict.
He hopes that the Pangandaran Regional Government, Pangandaran Police, Kodim, and other relevant parties can promptly sit together with the community and PTPN to find a solution.
“Through this medium, I hope that the local government, the Police Chief, the Military Commander, and all interested parties will promptly take any necessary steps. This is an agrarian conflict; please handle it properly. Engage in dialogue with community groups and PTPN. Sit together peacefully so that residents are not afraid and can resume their activities,” he said.
