TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The Koperasi Monument, previously neglected, is now gaining attention from the Tasikmalaya City Government, including plans to revitalize this historic symbol representing the city’s economic strength.
The Mayor of Tasikmalaya, Viman Alvarizi, discussed this during a combined civil servant meeting at Lapang Bale Kota on Monday (20/7/2026). He outlined several strategic agendas, such as preparing for National Koperasi Day (Harkopnas), reviving the Koperasi Monument, and recognizing those who contribute to regional development.
At the event, the National Zakat Amil Agency (Baznas) also presented awards and symbolic assistance as part of a community empowerment and welfare enhancement program.
During the dry season, residents of Cidolog, Tasikmalaya, depend on murky water sources. A collaboration between MBK Ventura and Baznas provided aid in Ciawi, Tasikmalaya, and offered community education.
Viman said the City Government is preparing a series of Koperasi Day celebrations scheduled for 25‑26 July 2026. A key agenda is the groundbreaking for the Koperasi Monument’s revitalization, which will transform it into a modern museum while preserving its historical value.
“This revitalization aims to preserve the historical heritage of cooperatives while creating a more representative educational space for the community,” he stated.
During his address, Viman also praised a previous nonton bareng (nobar) event held in Tasikmalaya. He noted that the activity not only entertained the public but also positively impacted micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) operating near the event site.
At the combined meeting, the Tasikmalaya City Government honored the Indonesian Islamic Art and Qasidah Institute (LASQI) of Tasikmalaya for its dedication to preserving and developing qasidah art in the region.
Through the meeting, Viman urged all civil servants to enhance professionalism, strengthen inter‑agency collaboration, and deliver optimal services to support a more advanced and prosperous Tasikmalaya City. (Firgiawan)
