Tasikmalaya, Thecuy.com – The plan to relocate Pasar Singaparna to Padakembang subdistrict as the kabupaten’s main market has been welcomed positively by traders.
Even though they back the policy, they urge the Tasikmalaya Regency government to ensure every trader receives a proper selling spot with buyer potential so that economic activity continues.
One spice seller at Pasar Singaparna, a trader named Ros, says she will comply with the local government’s policy regarding the market relocation to Padakembang.

“As market traders striving to earn a living, we support the local government’s plan to shift Pasar Singaparna to Padakembang,” Ros said.
Ros believes the relocation policy was made after thorough government consideration.
“I hope the transfer of Pasar Singaparna to Padakembang Main Market goes smoothly and succeeds. We will follow the government’s lead, and hope traders will be supported at the main market and the government will protect the community,” she added.
It’s the same sentiment voiced by another trader, Sahrudin. He noted that discussion about moving Pasar Singaparna has been ongoing for a long time, yet hasn’t materialized so far. Should the government finalize the relocation, traders are prepared to comply provided their trading rights remain secured.
“The talk has been going on for a while, sir. Since the government now wants to move it, we’ll go along. What matters is that once moved, traders must get decent and bustling selling spots,” he said.
He hopes relocation will not just shift the market’s location but also boost traders’ economic activity through better management, thereby attracting more shoppers.
“If moved, the site must be better organized and well-managed by the government. Traders need guidance to attract buyers. In short, it has to be lively, not become deserted after the move,” he hoped.
