The Tasikmalaya Regency’s Commission II DPRD is urging the local government to promptly develop a Detail Engineering Design (DED) as the initial step to accelerate the construction of the Regency’s Main Market in Padakembang Subdistrict.

This document is considered a crucial prerequisite before the project can be executed once central government funding becomes available.

Cecep Nuryakin, Chairman of Commission II of the Tasikmalaya Regency DPRD, stated that the DED must start to be prepared as it serves as the technical reference for implementation. The document contains working drawings, technical specifications, up to the Cost Estimation Plan (RAB) that will be used by contractors or third parties in constructing the market.

In addition to preparing the DED, Cecep urged the regional government to begin socializing with traders and the community, especially those in the Singaparna Market area. He believes this step is essential so that the relocation process can be understood from the start once central government development funds are disbursed.

“I applaud the regent who tirelessly fought at the provincial and central levels to propose funding for the construction of the Regency’s Main Market in Padakembang Subdistrict. And now it has yielded results, being included in the ministry’s proposal,” Cecep said.

He also reminded the regional government to ensure that all traders who have been selling at Singaparna Market will be provided with places in the new market after construction is completed.

“At the core, the DPRD continues to oversee and support, up to the central level. Certainly, the regent’s steps must receive support from all circles, stakeholders including the people of Tasikmalaya Regency,” he stated.

Cecep hopes that the construction of the Padakembang Main Market can be realized soon, if possible in 2026. He believes that the presence of the main market will have a positive impact on economic development and the arrangement of the regency capital area.

The existence of the Padakembang main market could bring positive changes for the progress and beauty of the spatial arrangement of Tasikmalaya Regency,” he added.

He considered the relocation of Singaparna Market as an urgent necessity given that the current market location is in the center of the regency capital. Meanwhile, land for the construction of the new market in Padakembang Subdistrict has been available, thus considered an appropriate solution.
