TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – The SEV Indonesia Chapter for Tasikmalaya organized a chapter meeting to elect a chairman and vice‑chairman for the 2026‑2029 term, held at Villa Mahendra, Gunung Gede, Kawalu District, Tasikmalaya City, on Saturday, 18 July 2026.

The gathering served as a catalyst to reinforce the organization and confirm SEV Indonesia’s presence, a community that originated in Tasikmalaya and has expanded to a nationwide network.

A representative of SEV Indonesia’s General Chairman, Rahadian Nurjaman, stated that SEV Indonesia is a group of enthusiasts for the Suzuki Sidekick, Escudo, and Vitara models, founded in Tasikmalaya and now active across many Indonesian regions.

Tasikmalaya intensifies Ohan Hafiz’s coaching programme, with 20 participants reaching 30 juz memorisation. Historical heritage must not fade, prompting Tasikmalaya civil servants to clean the Tugu Koperasi area.

“We take pride in SEV Indonesia’s roots in Tasikmalaya. Today, chapters are present throughout Java (West, Central, Yogyakarta), Banten, Jakarta, and in both West and Central Kalimantan,” he added.

Rahadian explains that SEV’s activities go beyond automobiles and off‑road pursuits.

The community also includes a campervan division, social programmes, and a disaster‑relief volunteer squad prepared to collaborate with the government during emergencies.

“We emphasise that the off‑road community must be present not only for adventure but also to lead when the region faces a disaster. This is what we constantly remind all members,” he said.

Dian also urged off‑road enthusiasts to protect the environment, especially during the dry season, by avoiding leftover embers or actions that could trigger forest fires.

H. Wahid, deputy speaker of Tasikmalaya DPRD, viewed SEV Indonesia as a community that has demonstrated strong unity and tangible contributions, beyond just an automotive hobby group.

He considered the assembly not merely a forum for electing a chairman, but also an opportunity to generate fresh innovations while preserving effective programmes from the preceding administration.
