TASIKMALAYA, Thecuy.com – Resident complaints about loud ‘brong’ exhaust noises were finally met with concrete action.
Polres Tasikmalaya Kota seized 77 motorcycles equipped with non-compliant exhaust systems during the Enhanced Routine Operational Activity (KRYD) on the Northern Ring Road (Jalan Baru) linking Purbaratu and Cibeureum districts on Saturday evening, July 18, 2026.
The operation, which continued until early Sunday, July 19, 2026, was launched in response to numerous community reports about loud exhaust noise that frequently disturbed the peace, especially during the night and before dawn.

Amid residents’ hopes for a peaceful night, a few riders still treat the main road as a stage for noise.
Beyond traffic violations, the KRYD operation was also aimed at preventing various social ills, including illegal alcohol distribution, prostitution, and potential disturbances to public safety and order (kamtibmas).
Tasikmalaya City Police Chief AKBP Andi Purwanto, represented by the Main Superintendent Ipda Jonih Jonansa, emphasized that the operation reflects the police’s role in responding to public aspirations for a safer and more comfortable environment.
“Public comfort is our top priority. Main roads are public facilities that must be used orderly, safely, and with mutual respect,” Ipda Jonih Jonansa told reporters on Sunday, July 19, 2026.
“Through this KRYD, we aim to ensure that every citizen can carry out activities without being disturbed by noise or other potential public safety issues,” he added.
During the operation, traffic police personnel inspected passing vehicles.
Riders found using non-compliant exhaust systems were immediately penalized through a non‑electronic law enforcement process.

According to Ipda Jonih, the action was not only intended to serve as a deterrent but also as an educational tool to promote greater traffic discipline among the public.
“The enforcement against non‑compliant exhaust systems is not merely about law enforcement; it also serves as education so that every rider becomes more disciplined, responsible, and respects the public’s right to a safe, comfortable, and noise‑free environment,” he stressed.
The operation resulted in 77 motorcycles being secured for using exhaust systems that did not meet technical specifications.
